trying a gringo wildcard

a South American adventure

São Paulo Airport

Well I´m 4 hours into the lay over from hell (or should I say flight itinerary from hell). We are in the midst of crisscrossing Brazil. It always puzzles me how the most economical airline tickets are usually the least efficient. How can it save TAM money to fly Nick and I to 3 Brazilian cities when we only want to go to one, and to boot fly us north-south-north? Perhaps this is why many airline companies are not doing so well… just a thought.
São Paulo airport and I are getting to know each other quite well. Nick and lunched at Pizza Hut and now I´m using some very pricey airport internet. But hey, when you have a lot of time on your hands you are suddenly willing to pay for some entertainment and connection to the outside world! (And I´m still holding out a glimmer of hope that I have the conversion wrong and didn´t just pay the equivelent of US$10 to use the internet for an hour! But I´m pretty sure I just did. At least it´s fast internet.)
Anyway though it´s a solid 24 hours of traveling by this evening we will be in Rio de Janero, have a good night sleep and then hit the ground running!
